Talking 1st FLM Maxx-LST Conversion - 03.12.2008, 03:03 PM

I can now come to say how I appreciate how much time and money goes into someone's shelf queen. I started this project sometime last year beginning with a BL system and a FLM Chassis and then decided to go full FLM on what I could. The only pieces that aren't FLM are the arms because I had to hack them up a little to get the LST shocks to fit, the body mounts and bumper mounts are still plastic just in case if I were to drive it, something would have a little give.

But that didn't matter, it came out beautifully. It also doesn't bottom out at all anymore. As far as I know this is the 1st Maxx fitted with LST shocks. I just ordered some CEN Genesis wheels, tires and 23mm hexes. As soon as the MMM/Neu comes out that will be the last upgrade. Here's what I'm running right now:

MM w/fan & HV Cap
Hobbywing UBEC
9XL w/ HV Heatsink
FLM Chassis
FLM Skids
FLM Shock Towers
FLM LST Shock Conversion Kit
FLM Bulkheads
FLM Bulkhead braces
FLM Tranny Half Case
Gorillamaxx Single Speed Conversion
Integy Alum. Diffs
Traxxas 3.3 CVD's
RD Logics 3.3 Knuckles
LST Shocks
LST Tires and Wheels (for now)
Hitec 5955 Servo
Spektrum Radio

That's AMAZING! I would switch to the plastic versions though since you save over a pound.

With that much aluminum on that truck, I dont think he was worried about weight.

It'll weigh more when I put on the genesis tires. I heard those are 16-18oz. a piece. Dude, that's 4 extra pounds!

Gotta love those LST shocks. I think that is what does it for me so much on the LST, those bug beefy shocks just draw me in......

Sweet ride. I hate doing service work or ride hight adjustments on eight shocks.

That was the number one reason I wanted to switch. I haven't had any problems with LST shocks they are beefy and awesome. I due have to switch the gearing because of the huge tires but I get to it eventually. I'm really hoping that the MMM will come out soon, but I won't hold my breath.
