Getting Hot! Ran my bl crt x1 for the first time today.I ran the truck for about 10 minuets before it overheated, the motor was blazing hot and My MM esc pretty hot also. I'm running a feiago 9xl w/heat sink, MM esc and bec and 4s lipo the gearing is 12/46. Should I get a bigger pinion? Also the front tires are ballooning like crazy Help please!

What is Diff Ratio on CRT? What temps you reach? What batt setup? (I think 4S)
10min for hitting critical temp on feigao 9XL without FAN its normal :) Whats why I dont like feigao. I cant even dump my battery on one run.
What Diff setup you use? Try hevier oil in midle and one way preven tbalooning, tape tires inside, but you need to do this before glueing

Tom - I don't know what's going on with your setup, but even 80* weather with high humidity, I ran my MM/9XL/BEC setup without fans and it was fine on 4s. I was getting up to 35 min runtimes just messing around in grass and up to 20 min on the track. It's probably your gearing. Make sure your rear set screw on the diff input is tight, that will cause all your power to flow through your front wheels if it's loose. Also, gear up and use the speed calculator to pinpoint what your proper gearing should be for your desired speed. I have a CR (buggy) mount in mine, which is why I have a higher pinion.

I dont know whats is wrong.
Drivetrain moves freely no any tights or so I am even chaved weight on truggy now its 4.6kg
I tried use my setup on 5S geared on 40MPH on LSP 14/46 it Heated up even faster than 10min
Now tried on 4S with 17/46 still hot and with 16/46 at least i can do 15min mains but on limit and using fan.

I bought Hardened 15, 14 pinion and EagleTree for testing but its on way. But gear too down i start to loose top speed and cant compete with Nitros on stright runs on track.
I am start to think that Feiagao quality not stable mostly it overheats but some guys have good batch.

I dont know i will try new motor think about MEGA ACn22/45/1E I hope that it can hadle gearing about 40mph without heating

A buggy and a truggy are 2 different animals. I have found that the Feigao xl motors can power a buggy without too much heat buildup, but a truggy is typically about 2 pounds heavier, and most of the extra weight is rotating mass (so the 2 pounds feels like 3 or 4 pounds to the motor/electronics). I have run a 9xl in my Losi 8t and it would be in the "temp danger zone" at the end of a 7 minute race or at the end of a pack(5000mah 4s) when tooling around - this is without a fan for the motor. I would expect this to be the norm in a truggy if you can drive well enough to push it, yet a buggy in the same conditions would typically see 140f or so at the motor. Surely a fan for the motor would help, and it is pretty much necessary for the controller if you ask me (cooler is better and a fan is cheap insurance). If you want to drive hard and long, a Neu motor is the recommended answer - a Feigao is a great motor for its price, and most bashers or casual users don't push it hard enough to justify the higher price Neu motor....but if you want the best, a Feigao isn't it. :)

for the front tire balooning increase your centre diff oil to 30k and that should fix it...

Tom and Jammin - are you guys both running the RCM heat sink/clamps? I run one on mine and that's probably the reason I don't have heat issues. I do run mine hard and even raced mine, so I know I've put it through some stress. Also, like Mike said, put some fans on there!

I have finned can feigao and FAN
Yeah NEU is solution and I am seriously think about that but its bit expensive
1515 2.5D >about $250 Mega 22/45/1E >about $175
If compare those motors neu is cooler?
I wish to see more feedback from users about Mega motor exept Lutach :) I know what he realy likes it :)

It might just be that motor, you never know. What are your MM settings and does your body have any holes for cooling?
