The trak powers will do nicely if you set them up and run them in series as 4s.

ANy of the setups that people around here are running for the Monster trucks and truggies will do just fine on the DM1. Neu motor would be great, but a Feigao would work ok too. The Feigao would run hotter though. As for the esc, the Quark is working fine for me, but the Mamba Monster is due out soon and it would be another great choice, as would any of the other large scale ESCs, MGM, Quark, Mamba Max (up to 4s), even a BK Warrior would work fine or any of the other million off brand ESCs out there.

the DM1 is oretty much just a long bugy with revo style shocks and short a-arms. Anything that works in the buggies and truggies would be fine in the DM1.
