Maybe we need to revise the rules a bit. I agree with what Mike said, but also with what bdebde is saying.

How about allow the FS threads, but allow no responses - a mod will close the thread immediately and delete any responses that may exist in that thread. All correspondence would be between the seller and buyer and at the risk of both. And make it clear that no one from this site other than the buyer and seller will be responsible for any part of the transaction - and if that is not good enough, sell on eBay.
