Biking - 09.12.2005, 03:08 PM

i was wondering if anyone bikes in here at all. i Ride a MTB, i have a 2005 Kona Stuff. I almost did a 5 footer too flat on my bike yesterday. i did my run up and everything but my knees hurt to much! I mostly do drops. there is no Downhill action here but i wish there was. I am learning how to dirt jump as well. I have a different seat now and some other small things

Next season i am buying a new bike. i am going with a full suspension. maybe a 2006 kona STINKY. about 2300 dollars it will set me back.

The following photo is an old one of my bike

Don't get me started mate..

I love Kona's!

I've got a Cannondale, (build it up myself) with chris king hubs, Hope disks, i had a Cook Bross cranckset, but i changed it for Roox with those canadian gears.. Toughest available for the money.. I used to bike alot from my 12-16th.. (about 160miles a week minimum)

I had a Klein attitude before, and sold it to get the cannondale..

I'm not a fan of rear suspensions though..

I have an old mongoose and an old trek, but haven't been Mountain biking in a few years. I wouldn't mind getting back into it, if I only had the time!

Five foot drop!? Sounds serious.
No biking for me, never been a big biker. But I skateboard. Altough the days of 5 foot drops, or 5 step stairs are definitely over for me. I hear you about your knees, for me it's the ankles. I'm a member of the 3-steps-and-less club. Wonder how long it will take and I'm in the 2-steps-and-less club.
But I keep going, having fun on flatland and low boxes and rails.

Enjoy biking

I bike only to supplement my busy outdoor activity/family schedule. So I'm not hardcore, I ride a fully suspended mountain bike (not top o'the line) and enjoy going wherever I please...even w/ my two year old in tow.

I do some mountain biking, but nothing serious (yet). I just have a Mongoose Pathfinder, which was the best bike I could find for under $250. Money for me is always cut short, so I wanted a bike that would perform for a low cost. This is a dual suspension bike, and it rides nicely. It soaks up everything I need it to. Now I just gotta get onto so more mountain bike-ish terrain!

I love the speed factor. the wind in your face and all that good stuff. my tire had a "pinch flat" but it is all fixed up now

I have a Pacific mountain bike. I have been riding 1:30 to 3 hours EVERYDAY (I time myself). It is tones of fun but even more because I bring my mp3 player with me. Front and rear shocks, out of curiosity why dont you guys like rear suspenstion, because of the weight?

I was looking at upgrading to a specialize but it does not seem like it would really be worth the upgrade. I saw some Cannondales and thought they were really cool.

Do any of you guys have experience with derailers? The bike shop guy said they were going bad, so what are some decent ones? I have shammono 7SIS in the rear and dont know what I have in the front.

Thanx,
Ali
