I got a problem, need help! - 04.18.2008, 07:08 AM

Ok, ive got a 4wd 1/10 electric buggy with a traxxas reciever, traxxas digi hi torque servo, mamba 4600 motor and sidewinder esc.

Whats happening is, Im turning left sharper and sharper and everything is perfect until I make that last step all the way to the left then the throttle stutters and wont hardly go, but then I turn back to the right a tiny bit and everythings perfect again. Its not mechanical binding, and I tried different transmitters with no change.

Anyone ever hear of this or have it happen to them?

I've seen nothing but binding that could cause such an issue. As a workaround, you could set the steering endpoints to stop short of the place that causes the problem.

get a ubec, or pull straight batt power for the steering servo if you are running 7.4v. The high torque servo is propably pulling more amps than the sidewinder internal bec can provide. A good way to know if this is the problem is to hook a voltmeter to the red/black wires going to the steering servo and watch the voltage when the problem happens. The voltage should not get below 5v. You can use a pair of paper clips to "back probe" (stick in the connector while it's plugged in), just be real careful not to short the paper clips togeather :)

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
