jnev, can you check to see how much room there is for motor clearance? And how the tranny is bolted onto the chassis as well.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

The 3.3 is 525mm the E-Revo is 582mm long, thats 2.26" longer! That def puts this in the 1/8 scale bracket @ 22.9" long

Wheelbase might only be .4 bigger but overall length is quite a bit more

I think it's much longer because of the wing.. 3.3 doesn't have wing right? If you compare erevo and the platinum ( 572mm), then the difference in the length is not that much..but still its longer

Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY happy that the E-Revo has come out. I hope it ushers in a new wave of Electric racing at modern tracks. Personally however I'm a bit disappointed. I'd like to see a "Platinum" version which has all the hop-ups that the Platinum does. As it stands, I think I'm still going to convert a platinum rather than breaking all the parts on the E-Revo first.

I'm a little disappointed too. They already have an MT with dual Titans, time for Traxxas to release a RTR brushless Revo with all the 'fixins right out of the box. I do like the nice battery trays though.

I too think that a converted vehicle is more fun and unique. Still, it's nice to see Traxxas isn't deaf...

I'll probably wait for the "platinum" ERevo since I'd plan to race it. I don't want to buy an E-Revo and have to hop it all up, especially if traxxas decides to release a racier version.

On the note of releasing a racer version of the E revo, that would be great for bringing back electric mt racing. I can see an fully upgraded E Revo ,but with no ESC, Motor and Radio. That way we could drop whatever we want.

I think this will answer your second question:

Hmmm, I wonder when Sike will be selling off the chassis with the tranny?

Wonder how many parts from the revo will bolt up to this new chassis ? Maybe just buy the chassis seperatly and swap everything over and have an e-revo ? Atleast you can upgrade to the newer tranny at the same time !

I'll bet its like the T and E Maxx. The front and rear are the same, but everything in the middle is different. I'm sure the nitro revo front and rear ends will bolt straigt to the E chassis. They would be silly to change it and have to sets of parts.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Oh dear God no, no , nooooooooo..................

I like the Erevo though, just a shame about the battery trays limiting the size of the batts you can fit, but a little Dremel surgery should fix that.
