Have you tried setting the brakes to very hard? Some people reported that that fixed the problem for them.

Actually, I tired hard (the second setting of hard), there were two settings harder but I didn't try them.

I fixed the trans (had to replace a pin) but one of the times that the throttle floored itself, it trashed some steering servo linkages.... point is, I took it apart so the POS controller will have to wait.

Does it speed up every time or only some times?

I'll try to explain it better.

I'm running 30 mph. I hit the brakes, it's almost speeds up for about 20 feet and then slows down and stops like normal.

If you're running 4-5 miles per hour, it'll stop like normal. The faster you go, the worse it gets. It literally TAKES OFF when you hit the brakes for 20-30 feet and then all is normal.

As long as you're over the 4-5 mph, it'll do it every time. I have tried EVERY setting possible and can't change the results.

I have owned mine for about 3 years, and grew up here as my dad bought it when I was 12. We do about 1/2 and 1/2 owner pay and ins, and I do not do any direct repair for ins companies. I stay busy, especially last week, no time for R/C!

Good luck with the mgm, I am awaiting the MMM as much as you are...

Yup, same here... no DRP's for me. Of course, it hurts when times are slow. You're right, last few weeks, we can't breathe... it's been BUSY.

I can't wait till the MMM comes out. I've had too much trouble with the MGM. I'm done with it.

WHat motot and what timing are you using? I am wondering of it has something to do with the motor poles or windings or something. I had a similar problem to this at one time with a MGM, but it was not consistant like yours. Mine was very random and not very frequent, but when it happened it sure freaked you out.

Mine was that one out of every 250 (estimate) times you hit the brakes it would accelerate like you described, but only for a second or 2, then it would give no brakes at all. It would just coast in freewheel untill you gave it gas again then it would brake like normal.

I was running a Neu 1515/2.5D on it when I was having these problems. Later I swapped it to anothr model and ran a Hacker B50-0XL on the same MGM controller and never had a single issue. I'm just wondering if higher pole count motors make the MGM work 2wice as hard and confuse it or something.

I would at least send a note to MGM about your problem and be verys specific about all of the pertinent info. They might be able to sugest a solution. If nothing else a software fix would only be a download away now if the can program a solution for you.

Good luck man.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

There has to be something causing it. Have you tried another motor? Have you tried a different radio setup? I have had strange problems with radio gear myself. Even just changing something as simple as a receiver for another of the same has helped. Have you emailed MGM? Grisa seems helpful despite the language barrier. Don't sell out so easy..
unless you sell it to me cheep

Thanks guys... that's about the only thing I haven't tried. (changing radios/receiver)

I'm using the 1515 motor also. I'll make a few changes and email MGM and see what they say.

Thanks,

Mark
