Ofna hyper 7 tq sport rtr with Novak conversion kit - 04.21.2008, 02:03 PM

Hi,

I have an Ofna Hyper 7 TQ Sport RTR and I saw that Novak made a conversion kit for it !

My question is what do I need exactly to convert this buggy please (except the Ofna Hyper 7 kit of course ! ) ?

I think I'll go for the HV 6.5 brushless system and with the HV Brushless 5mm upgrade kit.
But what about the pinion gear ? May the 16T would be a great choice ?

What's your advices please ?

Thank you !

I just started testing my MP777 with a novak HV4.5 so I am only rehashing information I have been told as I do not have enough experience with the novak systems myself but:
Novak systems likes to be geared low, mine is a 9T, I was only able to run for a short time yesterday before it started to rain, but if the engine/ESC stays cool, I will go up from there, I am guessing that an 11T-13T should be ok, but I believe that 16T might overheat the motor.
As for what you need:
buggy (which you have)
Motor/ESC
conversion kit (seperate from the motor, but you seem to know that)
Pinion - RC-Monster, Mega motors, Tower hobbies, Novak all sell mod1 pinions. The only 9T I could find was from tower and isn't hardened, so I have to run the kyosho nylon spur gear instead of a metal spur (it is much quieter this way though).
Batteries - most people go ~5000mAh, I went to 10,000mAh, but I made custom battery trays and like to waste money (atleast that what my significant other thinks right about now).

-=WAIT=-
Castle creation just make a conversion kit for 1/8 buggy. I've see the pics on another forum. The kit contain both mudgard specialy made to accept li-po pack on each side, a motor mount who place the motor in the center line of the chassis, motor and controller.

Seem to be a very well build kit.

Also RCproduct designs makes a complete kit for the hyper 7 that is really nice. I have hyper7 PBS with the rcp kit on it and it is well designed, plus you can use any motor esc, the novak kit requires the use of the hv motor.

hmm nice ! I think the RCProduct kit is exactly what I need.

What is your motor/ESC configuration ? And what about the pinion gear ? Do you have a 14t 15t 16t etc.. ?

I think to use it with 2x6 cells battery pack.
Thank you.
