I would mount the motor front left and dual packs either side at the back...

I may be the ignorant one on the board; but can you tie the BEC into a single pack instead of the full HV? That way it will be running off a lower source voltage then the combined power.

Yes you can, but the pack with the BEC will drain faster than the other one. This will cause uneven pack discharge, which will cause the LVC to not work quite right since it just sees total voltage.

However, that one is not rated as high voltage. It would be expensive, but you should be able to parallel two of the HV ones. You won't get exactly double the current, but at least 75% more, so around 6A.

I run no LVC anyhow. I do 10 passes before re-charge. Your top runs will come on the first 3 passes...that is it. Been there done that. After that as you can see in my video, the truck starts to slow down little by little.

Shooting for 100mph on it.....

The setup will consist of:

2 X Turnigy HV's
2 X 1527's
4 X 6S lipo's

I will keep this post up to date as I start to try to fit all this crap under the buggy body....lol

Still haven't figured out how to mount both 1527's on the single spur...but I will come up with something.....I think
Wow. That looks good, but I'm getting ideas from you my friend . I keep checking to see if Aqwut will slip a few photos, but I might need a spy to get that job done . Just imagine if I had 100% of time for myself!!! Stuff like would come into play . I'm loving this smilies .

Nice Ride, but is that chassis tweaked?

It looks like the front bumper and suspension are all rolled clockwise by a little...

The body was up on one side and I had some 5S batteries mounted on one side for mock up. That is what the leaning is for....

What do you think about running an extended chassis on this sucker?

I say this cuz I just bought an old used buggy that the prior owner had converted over to truggy using a Dragon Racing conversion kit. First thing I noticed is how obviously long(er) the chassis is. Not to mention stronger & lighter then the OE pan. Might be worth looking into to gain some needed wheelbase (for high speed) and to help stuff all those electronics in there.

Is the weight (24lbs) really going to be a big factor given the HP (4+) that will be generated by two 1527's? I'm just thinking that for real vehicles 6+ lbs/HP is a fantastic ratio. I don't know the math/physics but it seems to me that the bigger issues will be the aerodynamics and high speed stability.

I was thinking 2 1527's at 12S each, is more like 4200-4400 watts each. Which should be around 11-12HP.

I didn't know anybody made one for the XLB chassis.... I figured 16.5" wheelbase is pretty dang long

Will you leave the 2 speed in it? If so I do not think that 100mph will be difficult with a pair of 1527s running 12s.

You will needs some serious wings to keep it on the ground. Sounds like fun!
