Just a quick update. I geared the Rustler 25/87, and man, this thing was a monster! It seems more powerful than before, so I think I'm right around its sweet spot. Still super smooth though.
I forgot to take temperatures unfortunately, and got a little bogged down in some old friends stopping by to visit, so it wasn't a helluva run or anything. I still wheelied the poop out of it though, and that type of driving would easily heat up my 5700, but the medusa was luke warm at worst. 
Definitely a keeper.
Anyone else have trouble getting pinions onto the shaft though? I have to almost hammer the suckers on!  |
That is good news. A little fine sanding on the shaft should help. I had the same issue with one of my other motors.
