Best BIG Truck?

I mean big as in like FLM savage or MMT big. Not gasser big, but a large 1/8 scale. I would build a FLM savage but it seems that all the components are crammed in there- the battery size is limited, and so is the motor length. I am a decent driver, but I bash HARD on purpose, so I need something that will withstand my jumps. Here's basically what I'm looking for: tough, components that will fit at ease, gobs of power, 50+ mph, and super durable drivetrain. Let me know what you find. Thanks!

Biggest is the XTM MMT, then the CEN GST 7.7, then the MGT 8.0, also the Mammoth ST, and closely behind that is the new Savage XL.

I like the MGT 8.0 some, but it doesn't really do it for me.

BTW, toughest truck would probably be the Savage XL from what I have seen from past Savage's.

How durable are the diffs on the MMT?

I haven't beat mine bashing on it per say like big jumps, but I can tell you it has had the most amount of power run through them then probably any MT has or close to it. I'm probably nearing 4000 watts, and also this truck gets the big tires put on it and its drag raced when its not doing speed runs. I have handed many Rustler, stampede's...etc their tail with this big pig.

BTW, the only weak point I have seen so far are the front axles. That is it....and drag racing breaks ALOT of parts that are drivetrain related.

Guess what? My friend has the new SXL. Somehow, he says he got it at RCX-- I have not seen it yet, so I don't really believe him, but in case he does have it, I convinced hin to convert it, but I get the pleasure of doing the conversion. Also, he wants to use that enormous outrunner from UH, with a CC Hydra HV 180 controller on 14s. This conversion should be quite powerful.

The conversions are only as good as the motor. The UH motor will probably make great power, but on 14S I would be going Neu or BIG Lehner motor.

I chose the UH motor for 2 reasons:
1.) Tranny wouldn't hold up, because both of those are inrunners= higher KV
2.) We don't have $500+ to spend on a motor

well if you do decide to do an MGT I have a SUPER clean mgt that im trying to sell.

it pretty tough, and I upgraded it to use 1/8 scale buggy rears all around.(I have some other stuff into it also)

14s in a Savage will require a very low kv outrunner for direct drive (assuming it will be direct drive). By my calculations, with 7" tires and ~45mph top speed, you need 140 kv. 50mph on 7" tall tires is about 160 kv.

I know you say it's crammed, but I've seen an flm savage take more abuse than any other truck. You could always run the batteries outside the tvp's, since they are still inside the track width of the tires they really aren't vulnerable outside the tvp's as some worry about. And if you get flm extended arms, the truck is absolutely planted at high speeds, and nothing beats the look of thick aluminum, IMO, If I didn't have so much money into maxxes I'd build another, atleast my buddy has the one I built so I still see it.

the MGT is the most simple setup... Motor is centered, and lots of rooms for batteries on both sides....
