MM Hacking "OverVoltage Issues" -
05.06.2008, 08:36 PM
Having an issue with my MM going into overvoltage when running 5s on my matrix tr truggy. Is their any way I can get past this limiter w/o modifying the board of the esc? I despirately need to run my 5s setup to see how well it works.

Sorry I have no direct data for you, but when I run 5S2P A123s into my MM in will overvoltage. However if I plug in the UBEC first, and power it up and then power up the transmitter, then the MM will arm with no issues. Works every time for me, but 5S LiPo (if that's what you are using) is a little different...

His esc arms and reconizes throttle input but wont spin the motor, mine is the same way, but i just flick it on and off a few times and it takes the pack below the overvoltage cutoff...

I have not done this myself but from what what I have heard you can disable the LVC and use an external one or dont run with one and be careful not to run too long

If just turning it off/on a few times brings the voltage down enough, maybe try setting the CC/CV threshold on your charger to something like 4.0v/cell instead of 4.2v/cell (if possible).

This is what I do on the one MM I have that is a little finiky on 5s. It actually only takes setting it to 4.15v/cell instead of the standard 4.2
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
