That makes sense. Very little manual labor to place them and the reflow have to be done anyhow. I'd imagine it'll make it easier to test each of them after build too. Heck, you could easily design/build a setup to plug them in and have dedicated ATE run the test.

When you go to the SMT connectors, will the ESC's include male pigtails to plug into them?

Yep,

We are including 5" pigtails for all the connections.

Hi Ryan. I ordered Sat I think. I agree it is hard to decide between wishing for a Monster now or later ie soon or reliable!

I'm running an 11xl with a Neuenergy 6s 4900mah 20c lipo. So far my highest peak recorded by the eagle tree was 89amps but I haven't taken it up to full throttle yet.

So... just to clarify the second batch is going to have the plugs on the esc. The wires won't be soldered directly to the board. Thanks

Mine Died. Second run just after an almost full throttle blip. Fan twitches when the esc is switched on and off and no connection with the castle link. Laptop says the castle link is connected fine but the Device connection status stays red . I'll email castle today.

Don't be scared, might just be a few faulty Switching BEC FETs that came from the factory and your might work without an issue.

Patrick
why is it that the first batch have the motor leads soldered directly to the ESC and the 2nd batch will have the connectors?

Just run it and see what happens. Castle will replace it if it dies I am sure. It does suck though having to send it back to the states and to wait..... again.

not to sound harsh....but if you are afraid to use the MMM it will be a cool looking paper weight, if it does fail it will be due to the existing components, run it like you would normally and if something negative does happen call Castle and they will send you a new one

Unlucky, any work from CC.
Do we take it to Australia Post to get it sent back or do we have to organise something with USPS?

Australia Post I would say. Unless castle is going to pay for the return shipping but I'm not really worried.
