I would also mount then end to end, to keep the drive angles as low as possible. Otherwise you will wear the center driveshafts.

Put the drive cup on the mount end, like rc monkey said. It will reduce the bearing loads, and not stress the mounts as much.

Also parallel the batteries and the escs on the power side. That will help that both escs see almost exactly the same voltage, thuc the motors spin the same. The rear motor will pull mosre power and run hotter. That is what happens with 2 motor systems like that.
