I have been looking into some of the 2.4Ghz radios on the market and have heard that some may have a shorter range. Is this true? I was looking into the spektrum line, such as the DX2.0 but i have heard of people having issues with range. Is this the case for all 2.4Ghz, or do some have better range than others. Also are there any other radios from other manufacturers that you would recommend?

The antenna is the arial, placement is where you put it. If you put the arial going right through the motor wires it will be far more prone to interference than if you put in away from wires on the other side of the chassis.
I have the Spektrum DX3.0 2.4 and the Futaba 3PM 2.4GHz SS(FASST) radio systems and they both are great systems with there + & -.. I like the Futaba fast best!..
I just ordered the Spektrem DX3. I don't have very much remote experiance. I bought it on the good reviews I found, and primarily for the price. It was $162 shipped, I thought that was a good deal.
I hope its better than my Traxxas remote. Ever sense I went electric its been very twitchy and the range has only been about 150'-200'. Sometimes it would even act up at around 100'. I was getting real nervous this was going to damage something.
I have a Spektrum DX2 transmitter I could sell you for a good price. It's a great unit and has fantastic range. I just replaced it with a DX3 so I don't need it anymore. If you're interested, PM me for the price. It will be for whatever the lowest price is I can find on eBay. You'd still have to buy the receiver though. The rx is usually about $60 on eBay. LMK
