Pics of your G3 E-Maxx conversions, as well as questions - 06.04.2008, 05:34 PM

Guys,

Can you post pics here (non- iphotobucket as the firewall stops me from viewing those) of your G3 Emaxxes (not revos) setup for racing (low profile tires, race bodies, etc). Also, looking for any shots comparing ride height of the G3 Emaxx versus a G3R revo, or truggy, etc.

I am really enjoying my 3905 Emaxx so far other than the stock servos .

Anyway, saw a few of these conversions online recently, and I wanted to know the following:

1. How well do these perform racing wise versus revo g-maxx conversions?

2. Do these kits work with the 3905 Emaxx parts, especially the single motor tranny?

4. Any issues when running hopups like the traxxas tube turnbuckles, proline powerstroke shocks, 23mm hubs, RPM parts, etc?

5. For softcased lipos, is the Gmaxx providing enough protection for them, or, has anyone rigged up some trays to hold them in good?

The price had me like . But, I also figured I could drop some serious coin on an E-Revo and still need to upgrade a bunch. Figure, why not use my Emaxx that is already upgraded pretty heavily.

Here is what I got on my emaxx, please let me know if there is anything there that won't work:

Traxxas front and rear aluminum bulkheads
Lunsford titanium hingepins
RPM true-trac rear suspension
RPM front suspension arms and axle carriers
RPM front and rear skids
RPM front and rear bulkhead braces
RPM front bumper
Proline 23mm hubs
Proline velocity dish wheels with badlands mt tires mounted
Proline powerstroke shocks
Protoform hardrive body
Tekno rc wing mount with Proline high down force wing
Traxxas red anodized steering links (draglink too)
Traxxas single motor mount and gear cover

Thanks guys.

You need a different firewall...

I'll answer Q2 & 4 for you- the gmaxx chassis will only work with the 3906 tranny. It is possible to modify the FLM mounting adaptors so that the 3905 tranny will fit, but you are limited to rather small spurs due to the chassis rails, so gearing may be tricky.

The Gorillamaxx chassis and suspension (emaxx) is designed as a direct replacement for the stock stuff, so any turnbuckle upgrades or suspension rods/tubes etc will fit perfectly- doesnt interfere with the stock parts that remain after changing chassis. Only issue Im aware of is that the steering servo linkage needs to be mounted in a slightly diffeent posistion due to different angles (revo chassis has angled mounting points). The gorilla emaxx chassis has no such issues.
