Choosing a datalogger

I am looking to purchase a datalogger. I have heard of eagletree, but when I do a search on these I get a variety of configurations, and different kinds of loggers, etc.

I am looking to use this in an E-revo, as well as a 1/8 scale brushless RC8.

Any advice?

Also, if you see a logger on trueRC's site, let me know if that is what I should get.

Eagle Tree and BNB Products. They have units that handle 150A and up to 60V. Eagle Tree seems to be better. I have the BNB Products DPR150.

Who is a good online seller for the Eagle Tree products? Also, I will be using this with a Mamba Monster ESC and a motor that draws a max of 105Amps (the neu is less that I have).

Exactly how do this work by the way?

The device measure between your battery and your ESC. It will show you how many AMPs your controller/motor combo are pulling from the battery. Your Neu might be rated for 105A, but you can be surprised by how off that can be. Spikes when starting a car can be up there in the 150-180A range. Eagle Tree also has a sensor for RPMs. You can check out Eagle Tree's website to find dealers or buy from them directly.

Hi, I have the Eagle Tree Elogger V3 and am very happy with it. I have the 150amp version but I am a little confused, while testing I have seen spikes up to 180amps, if the Elogger v3 is rated for 150amps shouldn't it stop at 150amps? Does it hurt it to go over 150amps? I sent the same question to Eagle Tree and have not heard back from them yet. I also have the brushless rpm sensor and it is pretty cool, not sure how accurate, but I guess it gives you a ballpark figure.

Some folks in rcgroups have seen them and said they can go up there close to 300A for the 150A version sensor. One guy even changed the sensore for a 200A model. They can handle the 180-200A spikes.
