I'm using the original fan in its original place but i soldered another connector on the end of the fan and now its hooked up to my receiver.....and i'm running the Hi-tec HS 5955 servo for steering....and by the way its on a dx3.0 w/ sr3000 receiver....and just yesterday I ran it for 2 hours straight at the local track (which includes crash and pick up time ) on 5s 8000mah truerc lipos and after each 30-40min run the temps were....esc=95....batt=100...motor=125..........i' m pretty happy and hopefully the next batch of MMM's that come out will be fixed so that way EVERYONE will be happy and be able to run a great controller with excellent customer support that also costs half a much a an MGM...

I'll chime in here. Mine died during calibration, so after all the money and work that went into my whole new setup, I got NOTHING out of it!!!!!!! I am so pissed, it's not even funny. Castle screwed up some other stuff with me as well, and personally, I do not like them one bit right now. I am new to BL/LiPo, and I bought a CC product because everyone talks about how wonderful they are, but here's what I know: I bought an ESC that was rumored about for 3 years. Luckily, I was ready to buy when it actually came out. I waited a while to get it, and it came. I hung on to it while I finished up my build, and it died RIGHT AWAY. Then I sent it in for warranty repair, and if I'm lucky, I'll have it back 2 months or so after I sent it in. WOW. THIS is what everyove's raving about?? I mean seriously! I'm just shy from the point where I call them up and force them to give me a refund, as I don't actually have anything to show for my $170 other than pictures. If the current lead time is a month, then I think I'll look into buying something else, as I don't feel like waiting while they putz around. I currently have nothing to drive besides my micro t, and I live in NJ - it's cold here in the winter! I'm NOT letting the summer go by without my truck!!!

WHOA!!!! i guess that's one way to vent....i'm pretty sure everyone here on this forum feels and understands your frustration but kepe in mind that they are doing the best they can to fix this problem and one of the posts from patrick on one of the forums here said that they might be ready in3wks ....or something close to that...that being said there is always the mamba max that you can buy on ebay for around $80-$90 if you look around....my local hobby shop is selling them brandnew for $112....now for 4s setup's it would be a $10 HV cap and a $5 fan.....you can run all this while you wait and the best part is that there are available NOW ... Once all this is fixed you will have the best bang for your buck for an esc (maybe even more bang ) or if you can't wait there's always the $250+ MGM......$200+ novak.....or traxxas vxl setup....but you really can't beat CC customer service....i don't work for them or am sponsored by them (trust me if you saw me drive you would wonder why i'm even racing)but i've owned there products for about 3 years now and they are excellent.....but there's nothign wrong with venting

Crikey, that's what you call letting it all out! Castle have never had this sort of thing happen to any of their controllers as far as I'm aware, and this isn't even their fault; it seems to be National Semiconductor's, who supply one of the switching BEC components. Castle are working their *butts* off right now to solve the issue, and Patrick has said that they should be rolling out the revised controllers (using a different BEC switcher chip) within 2-3 weeks.
I don't work for Castle either, but I'm sure they're as frustrated by this as everyone else is. It's perfectly understandable to be annoyed by this mate (and I'm not having a go at you) but try to calm down a bit...they'll fix it. In all honesty, making posts like that aren't going to encourage them in the slightest, so just try to understand and cool down a bit. Castle are a great company, and they'll take care of you.

That was quite a rant...and nobody should have a problem with it. He's a new CC customer with a legitimate gripe. He doesn't have the long history with CC that a lot of us do. That history is why most of us remain relatively patient. I'm somewhere in the middle. I like CC, but I feel they dropped the ball...I also know they will fix it. If anyone wants to complain, I feel that's perfectly acceptable. Post like that are not going to encourage or discourage CC. They are in this to make money and it will be fixed. What has surprised me, is all the CC butt-kissing. They deserve some heat for this.

Try to be a little realistic about the MMM situation. It's a new ESC, and in an attempt to get it to market sooner they skipped the Beta test. I'm a fairly new CC customer myself. I've gotten more straight answers and help from Castle than any other company I've ever dealt with. I've had to cave in a service managers door at a car dealership to get a minor problem fixed on a $29,000 new truck. I had to drag an insurance adjuster through the receptionist window at his office to get my point across about getting paid for damages their insured did to my car. I hate that crap. I didn't have to drive from St.Louis to Kansas to get help from Castle when my MMMs gave up. One easy phone call and I was able to get answers and help that I think went above and beyond what anybody could expect. Not a cross word, no attitude, just an apology and parts I could use until the MMMs get fixed. I'm not thrilled that the Monsters are having teething problems, but I think Castle is doing all they can to make it right.

electronic components do break down its in the numbers, when you have thousands made...I bought the Maytag stainless steel bottom freezer french door H20 refrigarator which ran about $2500 and after the 1st month it broke down to say my wife was dissapointed would be a very big understatement and luckily we had signed up for the warranty, but we did lose a bunch of food...it turned out to be a bad circuit board the tech that came to the house knew what it was before even looking at it

MK351 and others --
I do feel your pain. We are working hard here to resolve the problem and have replacements ASAP.
We ordered the new circuit boards last week, and they should be here in a week. We are probably three weeks from first deliveries of replacement units.
We did do a Beta on the MMM, but did not see the same problems we had with production units. The Beta units used a different batch of components, and didn't have the same issue with failures as the production units.

well, there IS a lot of CC butt kissing that goes on here, and maybe it is well deserved, I don't know - this was my 1st purchase. And maybe I did go slightly overboard, BUT, to say that this situation sucks; well, that's a bit of an understatement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so psyched to get my truck going! I bought a brand new truck (Muggy), and that's always fun, and I ditched every single item I own that's related to nitro to fund this very expensive project. I spent quite some time putting it all together, and then, poof! I would have been happier if I got a couple of minutes runtime at the very least, but I never even got to finish calibration.
I'm sure castle is upset and stressed out, but given my particular circumstances, I just wanted a working ESC, and I wanted it a few weeks ago. I know they'll fix it, but, well, this sucks!! Have I mentioned that already???
