MMM fan - 06.29.2008, 02:54 PM

I had a good bashing session this morning, but one thing I did notice was the fan on my MMM stopped working, for the people who had a MMM fail on them was this the beggining of the end? I do have an extra MMM maybe I should solder the plugs on and have it ready to go.....

every MMM fan fails. Make sure you replace it. If the whole thing quits while you are running without a fam Joe FOrd said it wouldn't be covered under warrantee, which sounds crazy since nobady seems to be able to make a fan last more than an hour.

I found the integy 7.4v 30mm fan to be a pretty robust replacement. The stock rplacements suck and just quit after 20-30 minutes forcing you to tear it down again. I just run the Integy fan wire out one of the vent slots in the MMM housing and plug it into the reciever.

But to answer your question... THe fan failing doesnet necessarily mean the MMM is going out. I have a MM for the original CC batch that has alot of hard hours on it and its gone thru at least 5 or 6 fans before I found one that will last a bit. Its still running despite the fan failures.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
