Would the XL5 esc and the Titan 12t motor be able to handle 3s? I believe that that Matthew_Armeni posted that it could- Thoughts?

I know the titan 12t can easily handle 3s, I have them running in a few vehicles like that. I have not run an xl5 esc on more than 8 cells nimh yet, but that was a while ago. Someone here with a slash, think it was matthew a., ran it on 3s lipo, and I have seen a few slashes running 3s a123 packs. Might want to drop him a pm...

wow. people talk about the titan smoking on 8cells. I amazed it will take 3s. I suppose people aren't gearing down for the extra voltage.

You are probably right. I run a pair of them in a tamiya twin dagger and they work fine, the truck is geared for 35mph, and has plenty of power. I run a 3300mah 18c lipo and that does not get hot. Neither does the novak super duty esc. They are 20 dollar motors, can't expect too much out of them...

3s is not a problem, just be sure to gear down and know you will shorten the lifespan of the motor. Also, there's no LVC on th XL5 so watch your battery.
