Just wondering if anyone knows whether this will allow me to still use reverse, or if itll only work in forward...
cheers
ps. if people think it will not work, then are there any others out there that might (either 5s or 6s - so the novak lvc won't work) or does anyone have a Li-Saver that they do not want. thanks

I'm not sure, but I think I remember hearing it won't work because it is designed for aircraft radio use, and air radios have a different throttle signal profile than cars do. Unfortunately, there are few LVC units that work for cars, and some that do, don't work with some Traxxas ESCs (like Novak LVC with XL5 and/or EVX2).
I know you probably don't want to hear this, but what about getting another ESC? If you can wait a little while, the MMM would be a decent choice. It will run brushed and brushless motors (for future upgrades) and has a programmable LVC built in.
I wonder what would be involved in making/modifying your own version- seems like a simple voltage sensor that lights up the led when the voltage drops below a preset threshhold. Any thoughts Brian?...
Yeah, a simple LED shouldn't be too hard to do at all, especially if you don't want auto-sensing types (auto know if 4s, 5s, etc). But, an LED is passive, whereas you want active control by shutting it down. What if you can't see the LED because it's too bright out?
I was worried about that last issue too, but the led on my one (same as photo) is suprizingly bright, even at some distance away. Would depend alot where you mount it too, against a dark background being ideal for maximum visabilty.
