Hi guys.
I'm looking at the MGM 9032 Car/Boat controller and I have a question about the BEC function.
I'm guessing that due to the overkill in capacity this ESC is offering, the BEC would function for a high number of LiPo cells ?
On this controller, what's the Max lipo count that I have while still using the BEC function (without having to resort to UBEC options)?
Better to use an external bec, the internal one usually cause more problems than they cure. Anyway, a ccbec is fully adjustable so it is better than most of the internal becs.
Yea, guess I'll have to.
Geez, trouble is I live in Ontario and NOBODY sells ANYTHING here like that. We have to buy in from the States and it just takes a.g.e.s........ God, what a pain [boo-hoo]
Have a look at the spec data of the MGM 9032 on MGMs website. Opto ... so no integrated BEC. You have to use an external BEC. If i'm not mistaken Finnster here uses an MGM9032.
Correct. i have one. Any controller that says "opto" means there is no BEC. If you want to use the full capabilities of the 9032, you need a BEC capable of ~40V. The UBEC Mike sells is one of the best of a small field of BECs capable of this.

with an OPTO ESC is there a need to pull the red wire from the cable that goes from the ESC to the Rx when using an external BEC
