3s 2p lipo breakdown....

QUICK QUESTIONS FOR THE LIPO PACK BUILDING EXPERTS.....I HAVE A CRAPSAMPS 3S 2P 8000MAH LIPO THAT I'VE HAD FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW AND ONE OF THE CELLS HAVE PUFFED.....NOW, I'M PRETTY GOOD WITH SOLDERING AND HAVE BUILT NIMH PACKS BEFORE BUT NEVER LIPOS......MY QUESTIONS IS HOW DO I WIRE THE REMAINING PACKS TO MAKE A 2S 2P LIPO.......I BELIEVE I'VE DONE IT RIGHT BUT MY CHARGER WON'T CHARGE IT....ALL I'VE DONE SO FAR IS REMOVE THE CELLS THAT HAVE PUFFED (THE CELLS IN 2P CONFIGURATION ON THE BOTTOM) AND I NOW HAVE A TOTAL OF 4 CELLS LEFT....

BY THE WAY THIS FORUM ROCKS AND EVEN THOUGH MY POST COUNT DOESN'T SHOW IT...I'VE CONVERTED A BUNCH OF NITRO BUGGYS/TRUGGY'S FOR MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS/FAMILY ALL USING INFO THAT I GOT OFF HERE...THIS FORUM IS MY HOMEPAGE AND I CHECK EVERYTIME I GET ONLINE I THINK I HAVE AN ADDICTION

Build two packs ++ -- i.e. p and then join the packs + - + - i.e. s

The end points are your + red and - black...

Good luck and just be careful charging / using / storing your pack for a while

the stamping on the individual cells reads 3.7v 4700.....now is the 4700 the mah's?....if it is then how was the pack a 3s2p 8000mah pack?....if it had 6 3.7v cells at 4700mah's?.....and by the way Arkt1k....i connected the cells is this configuration:

now, my hyperion charger only charges up to 5000mah....and if this wiring is correct, then my charger settings should work if i set it up to charge a 2cell lipo at 5000mah.....right?

yes, as long as you rewire correctly.

I don't want to speak out of turn and don't take this the wrong way BUT honestly if you are asking these questions I'm not sure that this is a job I would attempt.

Sometimes you have to admit that something are beyond your abilities... It is not worth losing a finger or two for a lipo...

I'd say ship it to someone like linc but not sure I'd really want to ship a puffed lipo...

arct1k, you are absolutely right.........i successfully changed my crapsamps pack from a 3s2p config to a 2s2p config, and was about to do the same to my 5s2p 8000mah truerc lipo that i've had for about a year when that very thought finally dawned on me..."i could cause a really big fire" so i then proceeded to put the pack down, turn off the soldering iron and began to ignore the very same voices that tell you to "take the next jump at wot!!!! come on it will look cool everything will be fine " ....at the very least i saved 1 lipo pack but unfortunately i will not be doing anything to the truerc pack...thanks for all your help guys...again!!!...
