Hi

Does somebody use this radio with an EMaxx?

I tried this radio with my Supermaxx. There is a problem with the third channel, because the switch has 3 position (3P) and for the Maxx transmission I need to have 2P.

Somebody told me to replace the current installed push button with a 2 position switch.

I don't know if this is really possible. Does somebody had this problem? If yes, how do you solve this.

Can't you push the button twice for shifting? It may be more work be same effect.

do you use 1st gear alot? or is it just occational or what? if you have brushless you can always lock it into second gear of get the g-maxx single speed convertion. if im not mistaken you can also switch it to were its in second gear except when you push the button. that way when you let the button up if shifts to second

No addtional information. I had a phone call with spektrum. The answer was, the system is not designed for an Emaxx.

As a workaround they told me to purchase the futaba 3PK with the spektrum module. This cost more than the double of the 3 DX. I have also asked them what manufaturer they are using for the switches. The answer was, they do it themselve. The support line from Spektrum sounds not very competent.

A friend of mine he is a bike tuner. He told me I should buy the 3DX, he will replace the switch or find an other solution.

If he find a good solution, I will post this. I think this DSM technologie makes sense.

It is also very easy for handling, no waiting for free frequencies, integrated failsafe, because my son drive also on playgrounds, so than it is also an addtional security.

Hey gusti. If you don't mind could you explain to me how the thrid channel work. I know it is a three position switch. Do you have to push and hold it for every position? I thought it was like the other controller I have. If you push it it switched. I don't remember the type my other one is.

This particular switch on Gustis radio is always in the center position (free-wheeling on our trannies). If you want to keep it locked in a gear, you have to keep pressing on it. That's the problem.

Dear Sir,

If you has the third channel set for 3P then all you have to do is hold the button on the third channel to operate the 3rd channel. Unfortunately there is no way of making that a 2 position type switch in the programing. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, it's based on a make contact.. Sounds to me, like the transmittor is constantly sending a signal to the receiver that tells him to stay in that possition.. Which is rather weird in my ears..

A switch would to for sure. just make sure to check if the switch that's in the design now has got two or three poles.

You just need to solder a bit, and perhaps use a drill, but it's managable..
