Poll..Deans or Gold Plug connectors for you batts

i use these as well, they seem to loosen over time but if they do i jsut get a new set! i got 50 pairs sitting here...

I dont think Mike will mind, he'll probably order a boat load of them and resell them, lol.

I love my 5.5mm gold plugs. They do loosen over time yeah, but its a piece of cake to freshen them up, and clean them, and solder them, and they just look nicer too...

Those are sweet ! now ya tell me after I changed 6-8 escs over and made 4 series and 2 parallel adapters out of the slippery deans LOL ..guess I can just slowly start adding those on. thx

I have zip lock bag full of these, they are cool but I strongly recommend to use the trick of "mailman" to solder them (use male + female connector when soldering) ,

I found that the plastic melt somewhat quickly with a my fat 100 watt soldering iron o_O

Heh, I couldnt get the solder posts/legs hot enough to make solder stick to them, the plastic just melted instead with my 40watt iron. Hence my love of the 5.5mm plugs...

I managed to melt one of these because i wasn't payin attension, but at this price, i bought plenty of extras so no biggie


Thats a good Idea about hookin' two together before soldering for heat dissapation...i'll do that next time. thanks mailman!

Guys is there a standard with polarity on the Dean's micros?

They're identical, of course, but should the prong be wired for, say (+) on the battery side and (-) on the load side?

The idea is to prevent accidental short circuits, so try to use the female side on the end that is supplying the power. Just think of how your house wiring works.

With Dean's micros, it doesn't matter if the one exposed term is pos or neg, I just wondered if there was a standard for load side/batt side, I think maybe not?

Reason I'd like to know is I'll have 4 pairs in close proximity to themselves, I'd just like to know so I can do all 4 the same in attempt to prevent an oops with crossing packs (am running 2x2S with 2 Deans micros running off each pack)

I shoulda been a bit more specific, I didn't wanna start a thread for this ;) so I just picked the newest "connector" thread...

Even if the pos on one pack touched the neg on another nothing would happen (still an open circuit). But you still want them to all be the same so you don't mess up your esc.
