Welcome to the forums!

You'll need to make a motor mount from angled aluminium and a way to mount the batts, associated battery cups are an easy way.A typical setup for a buggy would be 12-16 cells although there's lot's of choice of setup in terms of motor and cell count.

The main thing to decide is how many cells you want to run.The more votage, the more power, runtime and efficiency but more weight, cost and space.Lipos are a way to increase voltage with less weight. The smaller gp2200 Nimh cells are another way to do this,20 of these weighs slightly less than 14 gp3700s.

A 9920 controller with a Feigao motor and RC Monster motor clamp/heat sink will run you around $300.

One main consideration when converting a buggy is being able to gear it low enough. That's why the Ofna buggies that use the nylon 51T spur make the easiest conversions, although you can run the 51T spur on any diff if you can make an adapter plate or just fitting the ofna diff to any buggy is easy.

If you run a steel spur you'll need a hardened pinion (i believe Mike may sell these soon or you could case harden yourself) or the pinion won't last long.

Look at some of the other buggy setups on the forum for inspiration.Let us know what buggy and how many cells and we'll be able to advise you on setup and the conversion.
