Going by what everyone else runs, the 1515 1y should be fine. I have a 1515 1.5d that I plan to run on 4s in my erevo. I swapped to mod1 gearing and will run a 17/50 pinion/spur.

Since the emaxx is identical to the erevo, gearing and tranny wise, you could do something similar. Not sure if you will keep the stock 32p spur, or convert to mod1. My only concern is that if you run a high rpm motor that is large in diameter, like a neu finned, you may have clearance issue with the transmission housing.

I run a plett maxx, which is similar in diameter to a neu finned, in my 3095 emaxx. With the 68t spur, an 18t pinion is about the smallest that will fit. Not a problem for me, as I run a 20t pinion. Just keep the motor diameter in mind when chosing the wind. If you try to gear it down it may not fit...
