Thanks, I just thought of it but Travis made it real....

I am not sure if I got everything you've mentioned

Anyway, I have completed the front/rear bulkheads with the hybrid buggy diffs. I had to trim a bit to make it fit well. Ohh and yes there is a screw at the bottom of the bulkhead that goes with the skid..its the only think holding eveything now.since i dont have the chassis yet (its with Travis)..not sure if this is what you meant...

For the body, I have a proline hardcore truck on its way.....I am yet to buy a sway bar....

Travis, I'll PM you later...need to check with you something....

I did a body mod years ago when I needed a wider body...cut out the center of a clear slash body about 3 inches wide and paint it the color of the center section of your paint sceme and paint another body with a solid color in the middle and keep all your graphics to the sides. Cut it down the middle. Take the 3 inch section and mark your width. Run a bead of shoe goo on the 3 inch sections edges so the glue doesnt squeeze on to the main body. Staighten every thing out and tape it. When the glue is dry turn it over and spread the shoe goo out on both edges and bed every thing with fiberglass tape. I put in a few small screws and nylon nuts along the seam line.

Interesting Idea....I might save this for future use... For this project I have resorted to shorter arms instead of a wider body...

If you decide to go back to full width, could you just image how good the handling would be. I've seen the nitro version and if you put any tires that are even remotely better than the stock ones, roll over city on a high bite track. I have a brand new stripped roller with trans that I was going to do a tekno set up on and I decided to dump it for this reason and cant even get any takers. I think full width with the widened body would be hardly noticable(vision wise) and quite deadly for a track/ basher. If I cant get rid of the roller, I might go the other way and get all the long arm parts and plastic chassis and widen the body.

That is my fallback if anything goes wrong it this I can always revert back to full arm length and find a decent wide body. The good thing about this design is the motor and batts are at the lowest possible position so CG wise it should be good..rolling over is the reason why bigger and wider truck bigger wheels started in the first place but I think this can be overcome....Travis made a great design putting this as low as possible...

Even the direct drive if it fails I'll just put back the tranny...i have enough spare to make a new E-Revo (too much buying off ebay)

I agree with the e-revo design and from a traxxas standpoint, I think they would do very well by making a 2 battery single motor, vxl E-slayer with the plastic chassis.

It looks like you have sway bars installed. Not much body roll, I'd like to see it pitched into a turn at about 30mph. It looks like the way to go. I guess I have to shell out more cash for the e-revo tranny and the plastic chassis and try to sell the aluminum chassis and nitro tranny. I think I'll throw in sway bars and 2 stage pistons for the shocks.

Still to come:
-posts connecting the skidplate to the chassis (they will go where the original E-Revo skidplate screws attach to the chassis)
-plate connecting the skidplate to the rear bulkhead (starscream's idea)
-thin delrin sheet that will cover the underside of the chassis from the front bulk to the rear bulk, and nearly the whole width of the chassis (this sheet will keep debris from entering the motor)

Looking sharp, can't wait to see the final result!

I have been running my slayer with badlands buggy tires on ofna buggy wheels. Used ofna 17mm adapters. It handles fine for me. It will traction roll in a corner, but not much worse than a MT. I think it is fun to drive as it is not as forgiving as a MT. I definately prefer it over the 2wd slash, that is for sure! I have a feeling that different tire make a huge difference.

Cant wait to put all this things together.....

Linc...+1 on the ofna 17mm I have them on my maxx (after a not so good experience with 23mm adapters)...They are easier to use and enough to handle large wheels.... I bet there are perfect on buggy size wheels/tires....
