MMM V2 Gone - 08.13.2008, 03:55 PM

My new MMMv2 lasted about a week with probably about 6-8 packs through it. It was working just fine up until Monday.

I had it down at the track practicing. I ran about 2.5 packs through it no trouble. Then about halfway through the third pack it just stopped in the turn at the end of the back stretch. At first I thought it thermalled. But it's dead meat, no lights, no nothing. The fan has a couple of broken blades. It may have stopped before the esc did, who knows.

Castle said to send it back and they would replace it. No hard feelings on this side. Thanks Castle

4 out of 2000 is optimistic. I dont think they have shipped that many. And I'll bet a good percentage of the ones they did ship havent even been run yet. I havent gotten around to setting up and testing my v2 yet. Hopefully this weekend. But my point is, its probably more like 4 out of a few hundred at most. Thats still not that bad compared to the first round.

That kind of percentage is probably better than most controllers on the market.

Certainly not 2500 shipped yet though. I have also seen CC statements that there were only 40 or so returned MMM V1, and that the V1 replacements would be first to ship and there are some that there are some that still dont have the V2 replacement for their dead V1. So does this mean they havent yet shipped 40 MM V2?

I dont know, but there certainly arent 2500 of the V2 out there yet or they would be being shipped by the retailers already and many more people would have them.

So 4 out of 40 doesnt sound so good to me now. I was just rying to stay positive here.

Maybe I should change my avatar.

I don't want to give people the wrong impression.

Actually, in the grand scheme of things, 10% isn't that bad. Yes it sucks that some people have ended up with 2 or more failures, but when this finally gets ironed out we will all be happy and will forget it ever happened.

I hope your right. That's what I keep telling myself.

So far I've had 3 MMM failures. 2 MMMv1 and 1 MMMv2.

I have a v2 that's still running in my truggy so cross your fingers...

I'm thinking about going external with the fan and bec, but that kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?

If it helps at all, both of my MMMv1s are still running strong!

Oh wait, that probably didn't help. Sorry.

Are you confusing the issue with facts?
