Feigao motor question??????? -

I just recieved my Feigao 8XL motor and was wondering if the shaft where the pinion goes on should have a flat spot or not? Mine doesn't have a flat spot on it and every electric motor I have ever owned had one to secure the pinion to the shaft. So, is this normal, and if it is, should I just put a flat spot on it my self or is it not needed?
A flat spot is recommended generally. Only needs to be a small one- just hold the shaft with some pliers near to the motor, and work away with a file or dremel and cutting disc. Stick the motor in a bag and poke the shaft through it to prevent metal filings entering the motor.
Yup, thats what I figured. I'm surprised that it doesn't have a flat spot on it from Feigao. Thanks for the tip on putting the motor in a bag to keep metal from getting inside the motor.
