Looking for a new charger - 08.14.2008, 12:30 PM

I've been doing some research for a new charger. Right now im stuck with hyperion 2 x 0610 net or the 0610 duo. Basically I was looking at the 500w or 360w. I really dont mind having 2 power supplies. Batteries are 2 polyrc 5000 mah 30c batteries.

They are both great chargers - 2 x 610 would give you greater flexibilities.... But maybe overkill for what you need - You don't mention how many S your batteries are...

I should have mentioned 6s. The power supplies are 23A competition electronics.

well they wont max the 610net out but it will be it close. And to be honest to run the charger at it full potential you would have to have a 6s 9900mah battery. That would be a 12s 19800mah battery to max both out. all i have to say is WOW. the 23 amp for one charger should be all you need on a 610NET that should only limit you to 6s 7000-75000mah or so. the lower the s the higher the mah can be though so keep that in mind as well.

I might upgrade the power supplies too to get at least a 30A as I would like to move up the 8000 mah soon. What you do you guys recommend for a good power supply?

FMA Cellpro 10s

Best charger I have run across. Puts the rest to shame IMO. Even measures the internal resistance of the individual cells while it charges so you can tell if one of the cells is starting to go bad and does a spactacular job of perfectly babalncing while it charges.

just my $.02

By reading the info on the cellpro 10s it sounds impressive. I did read that the max output is around 170w and not 300. Can you verify this?

I cant speak to 300W. The highest load I ever ran on it was two 5s 5000mah packs charging at 1C at the same time. So it was doing around 92 watts on each pack... around 185watts total. So I do know it does more than 170 watts.

I think that I read that there were some strange little issues like that when it was first released, but the cool thing about the charger is as they find problems they can fix the software and you can download and install updates as they release them with the USB data cable. Lets you track very detailed charging info on the computer is you want to also.

I thought the hyperion 1210i was the bad boy..I have one and a 30 amp rivergate bulldog 30. I was gonna buy the 610i duo but I think I'll grab another 1210i so I can 2 big packs at the same time.
