MMM connector question - 08.28.2008, 09:41 AM

I have a lehner motor that I want to use on my mmm, but it has the 3.5mm female connectors. I really don't want to try to remove them.

Is it ok to use the 3.5mm male connector on one end and the 6.5mm plug on the other that goes into the esc?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you were planning on doing this but use a dremel after you tin the lead so it fits in the 3.5 better. The 12g wire is a little thick.

This is what I did. I just soldered a wire lead directly into the 3.5mm socket on the back of the lehner. Then you can use any connector you want on the motor. I really think that the 3.5mm connector is a weak spot in the design of the lehner motors. I love my lehners, but the 3.5mm connectors are just not up to snuff anymore.

Heres a picture of what I'm taking about on the direct soldered wires. WOrks well. I have been using it like this for over a year with no issues.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
