Thanks man! I was thinking about trying to drill my motor plate so more air could get through the cooling holes in the front of my motor, but I already had to modify it to get the pinion I am using to fit, and I am afraid that if I drill it out anymore that it would be too flexible.

I forgot to mention that I did buy fine's water cooled system but had to return to him for a refund do to the fact that it was a joke...a sick one. for the cost of a chinese motor and a liquid cooled system you could just buy a neu 1515 motor and bamb...all your cooling problems are solved.

IMO, aside from the "cool factor", liquid cooling just does not fit right in a vehicle. Most likely, you are using it to keep something cool that is too hot otherwise. If so, then there is probably something wrong with the setup. Sure, it'll keep your $80 Feigao cool, but was the cost of the motor and the LC setup worth not getting a better motor in the first place.

And lets just talk about efficiency. So you take an already relatively inefficient Feigao, add in the electrical demands of the pump, add in the extra weight the LC system requires (which is more mass for the motor to lug around). Where are the savings?

And lets not even talk about adding more points of failure...

To me, if I want a cooler setup, I'll take that money and buy a slightly larger motor (like a 1515 instead of a 1512), and use higher voltage on a slower wind. Done. And no extra weight and dohickeys there to create more problems.

Well said, I do agree with that. But the "coolness/awesome factor" of a liquid cooling system in an RC makes it totally worth having to some people.

There are no savings to be made in terms of reliabilty or weight, but thankfully there are few points of electrical failure- 9v battery, 2 wires, and a little dc centrifugal pump. Even if the pump died or the batt went flat, the liquid would still aid in cooling, a little bit. That, and 5 gallons of silicon sealant should prevent any leaks...

I've come up with a better solution for the radiator/reservoir though- a low profile tank fitted underneath the rear driveshaft- should keep the CoG low, and made from machined aluminum it wil be light and damage proof pretty much.

I will be buying a decent motor though- 70mm medusa when they get here this month, then all this watercooled non-sense shall come to an end.

What can I say, I get bored easily- and this is a fun project that doesnt cost much.
