I have two HP workstations both running 10k rpm drives. Can't hookup my eagletree brushless sensor on it though. Got one thin pc for the wife to do her accounting stuff, one in the kitchen, so she can check recipes and whatnot, and one hooked up to the tv. I think of it as my giant laptop.
Laptops...well, I have 3, my wife has two and my 6year old has one. I don't run vista on any of them. Worthless and slows all my systems down. I'll upgrade to windows 7 when it gets released. I have a modified Thin client laptop that runs full xp and take with me when I go racing for datalogging and programming my ESC. The thing can stay on for 8 hours straight.

i'm only gonna post my two main systems.

this computer's actually down right now, (won't power on, possibly psu), when it's fixed, I'll move the externals from the shuttle to this computer, and it'll be ~3.5tb.

kvm switched, and eventually i'll run vnc to control the mini server. dual monitors as well, w/ a hd lcd tv next to them :)

HP m9047c from Sams club for $989 got a Intel core2 quadQ6600, vista 32 , 3gb ram and 500gb hd, the 22" monitor and wireless stuff is what sold me.

HP AMD 3800 64x2,XP, 2gb ram,250 hd, 19" from Comp usa for about 3 times as much 3 years ago

My previous computer fell victim to a nearby lightening strike. I knew the UPS passed a surge because it began squeeling like a stuck pig.

I thought "no problem, APC has equipment protection! "

BUT.......that's only IF you fill out the card with the exact equipment that you have plugged up to it. Well I didn't do any of this.

So.........enter..........my new computer.

WidowPC no longer makes my exact model (big surprise, it's almost 4 years old). It was TOTL when I bought it. The first dual-core laptop, I believe. After it's all paid off ($) I'm going to put a custom liquid-cooling system into it. It can be done, I've had it apart a bunch of times already to check things out. The only reason I don't do it now is because should anything go wrong, I don't want to be making payments on a busted computer.

The new laptop is for college. Part of its purpose was replacing my desktop (which I'm not taking with me) so it had to be powerful. I worked all summer to pay for it. Definitely will be my baby for a while. To go along with the laptop I got some Bose Over the Ear headphones so I can drown out noises when I study (and so I can have sound without disturbing other people). Truly great headphones. I also got the Dell XPS Backpack designed specifically for my laptop (this arrived already and its very sturdy).
