I would go with a slower motor than Neil the 1515 2.5 DF Neu at 1650kv I think would run cooler

Yeah. I want to limit power with ESC current limiter, I can set it to any number, it helps to keep engine and esc cool and when you don't need too much power, just cut it :)
But there is something like idle current, which I don't know what is, but more powerfull motors eat more energy even going slow than weaker, heard so, but not sure about it?
After reading several threads I think of 1521 1.5d, any idea where are they cheapest to get?
1515 2.5 DF why should be cooler?? By the same current limit set on esc?

Personally I think that current limiting on the esc might give inconsistent performance and make driving a bit of a pain....

Neu's don't need to spin fast to give you masses of torque and power - 2.5d will be at about 33k which is perfect. If it helps Mike (runs RCM) runs the 2.5d on his truggies on 5s lipo.

What is disadvantage of 1521 1.5d over 2.5D?

1515 2.5d = 1650kv
1521 1.5d = 1900kv

I think you'd have to gear up the smaller motor a touch to get the speed you want on 6s a123, where as the larger motor would be about perfect with 'normal' gearing. In an emaxx weighing about 10lb, I think you'd be happier with the 1515 2.5d, or perhaps the 1515 2d- perfect balance of speed and power at 2050kv, and would work well on anything from 4-6s lipo voltages- gear up or down as required without sacrificing temps much. I wouldnt bother with current limiting via the esc either, sounds like a good way to hurt performance more than anything.

Those are good infos, thanks. About limiting, I already can see, that MGM don't have it at all :( I want to use it to drive during normal days on offroad with half power, not hurting driveline that much as during speed runs. In my GM Racing ESC's it works perfect, I use very strong motors everyday, only when I don't need 800W I put current limiter and drive with my weaker friends on 400W with cooler and longer runs. Unfortunately GM is only 4S speedo :( Do you have any other than MGM speedo in mind up to 6s with reverse? I have to rely on you guys, because in Poland where I live there are a few brushless MT at all :( Any idea where to buy this 1515 2d cheapest?

Cheapest place to get the motor is direct from the disributor- castle creations, though its built to order so will take 4-8 weeks to arrive:

As for the escs, there isnt a huge number to choose from:

or the Schulze line up- bearing in mind they cost about twice as much for the basic models, and it only gets worse:

Yeah, unlucky it semms that MMM V2 still burns sometimes... With shulze I'm in contact, but they don't have current limiters f.e. :( No other ideas?
