strobe slipper? - 09.20.2008, 10:29 PM

Can anyone tell me what parts i need to get to have a strobe slipper clutch like the one in the picture below? I'm currently building a gorillamaxx g2r with a g1 transmission and would like to have the strobe slipper on it if possible..

Well, you need the strobe slipper setup, the emaxx pressure plates, a bearing (can't remember the size), and the Strobe sprong (replaces the spring). Finding the Sprong will be tough to do, but all it does is reduce the wobble caused by the stock spring.

Thanks BrianG for the info, do you have any recommendations where to look for the strobe clutch parts, the pressure plate won't be bad to find, but the sprung? that will be another mountain to cross. I might just end up going with a Robinson racing clutch....

Both Strobe parts will probably be hard to find. And when/if you burn up the slipper pads, you're in for another scavenger hunt to get more. AFAIK, they simply aren't made anymore. Maybe someone here has an old emaxx setup they don't need and will have these parts since most are using current generation slipper parts (Revo-style).

Thanks again BrianG. I thought it was going to be a wild goose chase. I'm going to shift into a different direction and look at my options and see what i want to do.

You don't need a strobe sprong. I made one using a faucet gasket. Go ove to the UE forum. There is one on sale for $35. Sprong costs another $30-$40.

Here's my truck:
