I cant just cut that to the right length and throw it in lol?
EDIT, now that I look at it, he is using a Gmaxx half case, I locked mine into 2nd, I will post a pic in a min, but its locked into 2nd, and I use the whole case... So I cant use the revo shaft

I'm currently running 6 spyder 1/8 scale diffs. I will be removing them in a few days and will be installing a pair of UE 8 spyder 1/8 scale diffs with 5K front and 3K rear diff oil. Current diff cases are UE Ultralites but "might" be swapping them out for my VBS .
Here's a link to my brushless build: Gmaxx build
Edit- One thing that I did to the 3906 shaft to strenghten it was removing the pressed pin, drilling the hole to 2.5mm, and then installing a hardened pin from a plastic yoke setscrew.

Has anyone run this setup with the stock revo spurs (38T)? Just concerned about motor clearance with the tranny with that small of a gear.

If you are going to run mod1 you may need to switch to MGT spur gears (46, 49, 52t). All you have to do is bore out 3 of the slipper peg holes to 5mm, and then the gear will be a nice tight fit on the slipper hub.

I looked at that, but according to the gearing selector, I need to be down in the high 30's for the batteries I want to run. That would be running a 25T pinion (the biggest mike sells).
I'm heading out to the hobby shop right now to buy the parts for this, and I'll pick up some of the stock gears to check out the fit.
Also, I have to tell someone (since I cant tell the wife!!) I ALMOST picked up a running 3.3 Revo and a good cond. Stampede this morning for 250 off Craigslist (included charger/batteries/ everything). There is one guy going to look at and I'm next in line. Crossing my fingers.....if I get it, that kid in NJ thats looking for a Stampede is going to get his lucky PM.

Don't forget to use a 5x10mm bearing as the Stock 5x11 slipper bearing will not fit the mgt spur. I find that even with the 5x10 bearing I must use a reamer to open up the center hole slightly...

Well, I got everything except for the input shaft....all three LHS didn't have them. Gonna have to order one.
It looks like the stock Revo spurs are going to be too small. I picked up the three different ones, but I really doubt I'll be able to get the motor close enough with that small of a gear.

How about a Jato spur (54, 56, or 58) and say a 30t pinion? That would get you around the 40mph mark per the speed calc.

I was just looking at that (and the stock 3905 Emaxx version). I'll have to check part numbers and see if those are the same parts as they seem to have the same tooth range. From looking at the calculator, I guess the first thing one must do is commit to Mod1 or 32P.
I think I'd like to stick with 32P, since I have about 100 bucks worth of new in package gears downstairs....but of course they are all 12 - 18T.
When going thru the calculators, how does one determine if you are running the motor in the right way (ie., RPM, current, etc)

I've been using the Jato spurs on my G3R and ruslter for some time now. Hold up fine if you set your mesh is right.
I got a 30t stainless steel pinion from Kershaw Designs and a couple spare Jato spurs 56 and 58 (fresh out of 54s) if your interested. I've been debating on offering to sell the 30t to you. I really don't need the pinion anymore.
Per the speed calc the 30t gets my setup over 60mph. I don't need that kind of stress in my life anymore. I've tried it out a couple times. It get's my setup (G3R, G1, 4s 1515 1y/s 54t) hot fairly fast so I have to pay attention to the temps. With todays economy I can't afford to pay attention. I have to check the temps more often when using the 30t so that mean replacing the temp gun battery more often.
Let see........I should live longer with less stress in my life. I can put the money I save from the temp gun's batteries away. I might need it to pay attention to something in my finals days. If I remember I have the money and what it was I was going to pay attention to.
I'm a little confused. Is Arizona Gods official waiting room or is it Florida? How early can you make reservations? Is there a discount to play BINGO if your a member of AARP? How about NRA? Is there a valet for my walker? What about my wife then, got a valet for her? Did that damn dog run off with my teeth again? Well He must of, there's a trail of Efferdent and his walkers gone.
Off topic? Must be a Side (far side) effect of reading through an old Far Side calendar. One seriously warped but funny individual. The more you think about the joke the more you laugh, makes people on the elevator wonder what the hell is he laughing about.
I don't think you'll have the heat issues with the lower kv Neu you have. Eyeballing it on my G1 It looks like 54 -68t spurs shouldn't be a problem w/ the 30t.
