If there was a problem running two packs people would be really PO'd! How many E-REVOs and E-MAXXs are out there with high power BL setups running 2 Lipos? I'm gonna say thousands just from the users on here! Where does 3.5 volts come into play? The minimum voltage for Lipo is 3.0v and most run the lvc at 3.2v per cell to allow a little safety margin. What is the weight savings of a single 5000mah 6s pack versus 2 5000mah 3s packs? I'm guessing it's only the weight of the extra connector and wire off the second pack.

3.5 volts is a safe bet on the voltage a lipo cell will hold under a typical load near the end of a run. If one pack is 100 mah behind another pack in terms of remaining capacity, one pack could read 3.5 volts/cell and the other could read 2.9 volts/cell when the cuttoff is hit. I can't proove this actually happens, but from my experience, lipos "lose it" almost suddenly when they are about to run out of mah. The pack that "loses it" first may become damaged over time and lose charge capacity quicker than the other pack.

Weight savings:

extra battery compartment/box - 2-3 oz
8 inches less wire and 2 less connectors - 1 oz
Heatshrink of the second pack and any hardware to mount everything < 1oz

So about 1/4 lb maybe? Maybe in a truggy weight isnt all that important, but it's just something to think about.
