Actually, that car is very strong belt wise. Hopefully they get the kevlar and heavy duty stuff in it, I might buy one.

If it's not updated with threaded shocks and titanium goodies, then i'll pass

For some reason I think my first rc was a golden arrow. It was a buggy. I thought I had something. Man that thing was slow to my ggmaxx.

Peace!

@Re~Mix,I'd bet the new belts would be fine too.As far as the x5 conversion goes i'd actually leave it as it is with center motor,it's not like it'll be short of acceleration anyway;)

i might ask Mike if he can get hold of one. They say limited production but once they see the demand you can bet it won't be.I heard the wishbones now have the new cross bracing/webbing for more strength, they've been 'cleaning up the molds' any way due to the x5,so there could be a few little tweaks here and there.

Here's the spec:

Well, it does seem to have all the goodies. I may have to look into that, but $350 is a heafty fee. I wonder what mike can do for me? A xxx-4 G+ almost seems better currently.

For a smooth track, the XXX-4 G+ is a better vehicle. For rough tracks, the XX-4 should be the ticket. The tracks I run on are rough, so I may consider the XX-4.

It's a single belt conversion for the xx4.Supposed to combine the superior suspension and handling of the xx4 with the single belt drive of the xxx4,better acceleration and easier to work on.

The handling balance of the xx4 is much better than the xxx4,uses a 3+3 saddle pack(x5 uses 4+2 as the motor is no longer central).Much quicker rough track car too.Alot of people say the xx4 is the best handling 4wd racer ever.

These are the people that make the x5 conversion:http://www.4wdrc.com/

This is a good source for Losi info too:http://www.losibk2.com/forum/html/home.php

To which? The x5? 4wdrc.com/index.htm

I'm looking to run the car in the neighborhood actually, lawns, park, street. Race occassionaly, but i don't think they'll enjoy being smoked by brushless. I'm think the xx4 would be better since it handles the rougher stuff.

Think i got into the hobby when i was about 9yrs old (im 29 now!) but i had breaks in-between.. family/jobs etc :)

I had RC cars before that but it was when i was about 9yrs old i had my very 1st "decent" RC model which was a Tamiya Hot Shot II 4WD (still remember it now!), followed by various other Tamiya's, then I ventured into the nitro scene with my 1st being a Marder (damn were these things ugly & performance was worse!) but still, i enjoyed it & from then on I had a few different Nitro's (mainly trucks) & never went back to EP, run times annoyed me & i liked the idea of a real engine making my trucks move :)

But now ive gone a step further & this is probably my last stop! 1/6 scale FG Monster Beetle Pro, love the thing, I still have 2 nitro trucks but im gunna give them to my kids as part of they're xmas box, just gunna get new wheels/body's for them & do a nice spray job for em :-)

Ive also been interested in RC Planes/Helicopters but never went through with buying one (mainly because im from UK & weather sucks!) but i do a have an RC tug boat that im in middle of building, started it about 2 yrs ago & its still not finished! ..im just doing bits on it when im bored to pass time :)

lol, i just googled to find a pic of a hotshot 2:
$820 on ebay! ! why did i sell mine for about Ł40! ....oh i remember, it was about 18 yrs ago!

anywayz heres a nice pic of it...was a classic!
