For a conversion using mech brakes, the aftershock is a great start. Just need to lock the 2 speed and you can also swap the internal tranny gears for less reduction. Or put the forward only in the lst2. I do not see the need for the manual high/low selector. Plus the small ears on the dog clutch do not look very sturdy.

The arms and hubs on the lst2 are stronger than the original lst and the other trucks. I swapped them onto my aftershock. I also added nova rc al diff cups, and the losi tin coated ring and pinion. The lst diffs with al cases must be the strongest diffs out there...
