I usually hammer a larger hex key into the damaged area.

Depending on if the stripped screw still has a head, and if you can get to it ok, I've had a lot of success using a dremel with a cut-off wheel to cut a slot across the top and then using a flat-head screwdriver to remove the screw. This has saved me a bunch of times.
