MMM V3 - First Run Opinions - 10.22.2008, 06:36 PM

So.. I know I ran it a bit last night, but today.. I grabbed a pack of MaxAmps 2X 2S2P 8K and my Zippy H - 2X 3S1P 5000 and went to the big back parking lot behind the shopping center around here.

On 4S - Temps never broke 45 on the 1Y and maybe 50 on the MMM, granted, it's only 50 outside maybe, but I am impressed.
Geared 22/56 I hit 43.8MPH. The Eagle Tree says I hit a max Amp Draw of 114.77 Amps(A little higher than I expected to see) MAx RPM was 34,403. About where I would have expected. Nice set up for mid 40 runs and solid performance.

Decided to press my luck and ran 6S. Temps still stayed pretty darn good. Motor ran about 60 degrees, The MMM had to have hit 150ish as I heard the fan run briefly. Even after a solid pass and temp reading, the MMM read about 80. Now.. This thing on 6S... is absolutely SICK! I managed to hit 59.8MPH and probably could have hit over 60, however I ran into to problems... I would run out of parking lot trying to open up the throttle, or I would left the front end over and end up on the roof trying to get to full speed a bit faster. I swear.. I had to be in the 40-50 range and if I opened the trottle up all the way, it would still lift the front end up and over. I had quite a few runs of watching the revo slide across the asphalt on it's roof doing 40+. Needless to say my etrex Summit GPS now has some nice road rash. :)

Max Amp Draw on 6S was 125.59 Amps Motor hit 49K RPM (Not going to do that often!) High Watts was 2455 and mAh used came in at 4370 between the 2 packs.

The V3 performed FLAWLESSLY and seems like it is going to be pretty rock solid. I look forward to seeing how it does long term.

JaySki,

I'll be in the Detroit area (near Metro Airport, Romulus) from Sunday-Friday of next week. I'll probably bring a vehicle with me to goof around with. PM me if you wanna have a bash session and let me know what type of rig I'd need. (I have a ton of cars btw..)

I just updated an MMM V2 I had and it ran great for an hour of running so far. Previous MMM's in our setups were dropping, so this is excellent. Thanks Castle!!

Why don't you get out and race that thing locally? There are a lot of MT drivers and some other electric ones too around here..
