I use and balance 2x 2s trakpower packs in series as well. I bought a second trakpower balancing lead and wired it up like this.



You don't have to remove anything on the first harness. You just unclip the 2 red wires from the second harness, and clip them into the first harness, putting the small balance wire first (position 4). You won't need the negative wire from the second harness, because the bridging wire will make it the same thing as the position 3 positive wire.
You can do it your way as well (as long as you follow Brian's wiring diagram), I just choose to do it this way.
You can still use that harness for balancing a single pack as well, you just don't use the last 2 wires that you added.
