Would you bash a truggy? - 10.24.2008, 04:49 PM

I am having a hard time deciding on what truck to buy.. I have a 1521 and another mmm when it gets back that I had planned on buying a muggy and putting it in but I almost wondering what if I bought another Losi 8T and make it a basher then I would have 2 of the same truck and could swap parts if I broke something and needed it right away.. or should I just buy a muggy and be happy?

I bash a Muggy and I'm very happy with it. IMO a 1515 is better suited to bashing, but if you already have the 1521 you can make do (hopefully it's length and weight doesn't cause any issues). I have only jumped it a few times and I suck at it, and it still holds up to my abuse. The stock control arms are a bit weak, but with RPM LST arms and their LST2/Muggy conversion kit they're much tougher (though I'd recommend replacing their turnbuckles with Lunsford 4x36mm turnbuckles, I sheared a stock one in ~2 minutes). Overall I'm VERY happy with it, I am 100% happy with my choice to sell my Revo and get the Muggy.

Here's a quick video I had taken of mine:

My biggest problem with the Muggy so far is it needs a hefty servo to move those beastly tires around. My Hitec 985MG had no issues steering my Revo but it struggled with the Muggy. I put a JR DS8711 in there and cleared everything up.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I plan on bashing my CRT and only racing every once in a while or if it becomes large enough to compete with fun.

I personally will bash anything...if it breaks, oh well, just part of the hobby!

I would bash a truggy if I had one. Actually I do! CRT.5 is just a 1/12 truggy right. Since the closest track is about 50 miles away bashing is pretty much my life, only raced off-road once at the RC-M bash. I am racing indoors on carpet but thats different. Guess I'm just saying DO WHAT YOU WANT!!! Nothing saying you can't bash a truggy!
