the bearing arent side loaded... so to say but i measuring right agianist the motor right at the bearing not at the end of the shaft. it prolly has the same miniscule amount of play when trying to push the shaft in and out. but the bearings arent moving then only when going up and down and i can see the inner race move in the shield.

and end play does matter quite a bit because if it gets bad the bearing will go out just the same and prolly burn something up or strip something on its way......

Well if you actually have .72mm of side to side play the bearing is garbage. If you have .72mm end play your fine
