18s controllers? - 10.29.2008, 01:23 AM

I am working on a large-scale project and am wondering if there are any ESCs out that support up to 18s lipo? Also can potentially see spikes up to around 150 Amps(I think), I am planning on using a Neu 2230/1.5y.

The only thing I have seen are the 90V SHV controllers on Castle's Special Projects page. I am wondering if there are any other controllers out there that can handle that much voltage.

Thanks

You don't really need 18S. You can use 10S, 12S or 14S and if you need a ESC, I have 3 Jeti Spin200 and I can sell you one. I've tested a Spin75 and I know they work with a pistol radio, but you have to use the mechanical brakes as the Spin200 has airplane brakes. All you need is the Jeti program box to change the settings.

I was thinking of running 12s normally and just running 18s for speed runs and such, assuming I could find a controller that would handle the voltage.

Lutach, please PM me info/pricing for the Jeti controller, if you don't mind. I am still working on the electronics parts, and probably won't be buying anything until this winter. But I am interested in it.

You can make your car go fast with 12S and 14S. If you intend to use 18S, I would consider that set up for higher run times instead of speed. I was going to use a SHV Castle esc in a 1/8 scale F1 with 20S A123, but it was to basically show everyone the concept of the higher the voltage the more efficient everything runs and that's when long run times comes into play.

PM sent regarding the Jeti Spin200.
