Depends. How long are the wires? If they are so long you can braid them, then they really should be shortened IMO. I've never braided/twisted the motor wires and I have as much range as I can effectively see.

This one?
Eh, might help a little I guess. Most of the time, twisting wires is done for long runs to either reduce noise being emitted from the wires, or more commonly, to reduce noise being induced into low-voltage/high input impedance wires (think audio).
I think the problem with that pic isn't whether or not you twist the wires, it's the placement of the antenna. For one thing, it is running parallel to the motor wires (albiet a few inches away). It would be better to mount the rx in the rear instead to get more distance from those motor wires. Twisting is probably helping, but still not ideal. For another, that's either an AM or FM radio (judging by the length). AM is really susceptible to interference, and FM is a bit better, but not perfect. AM usually is affected by glitchy operation, whereas FM usually just gets washed out by the noise and has limited range.

+1, my Spektrum used to glitch terribly until I moved the Rx and antenna away. It only takes a few inches and it makes all the difference. I can drive my RCs so far away I can't see them anymore and still get reception.
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Gotta make sure your antenna isn't too short, that could cause issues as well

Motor wires are 7 1/2in long.. i tried braiding them- no avail, i even moved the speed controller to the rear chassis brace, no difference. receiver is on the front brace- as far away as humanyl possible from the noise

do they have to be at 90 degree angles?

beleive me its sticking strait up and as high up as possible
Would haveing the aluminum antenna mount hard mounted to the aluminum chassis affect anything?

The antenna has since been moved to the main chassis right next to the left bellcrank.. i thought that would help but it didnt.

I run alot of IT and communication wires and let me tell you that a twisted pair wire helps geatly with reducing noise. There are a few system that will not work if the wires are not twisted b/c of the excesss noise.
I wonder if you put a sheilded tube over you high current wires if that would help to? I bet raping your wire would help keep it clean.

Now that is news to me
But anyways, im thinking of moving the speed controll to behind the motor and shortening the wires.. is too short a bad thing?

I run Futaba FASST 2.4, and it never glitches. I had a few issues with speky, but it wasnt horrible, but the Futaba system is great
I agree the motor wires are to long, but thats great, so we ccan cut them to what ever length we need, and make out wiring nice and neat, with out having to have another set of wires coming from the speedo

I ran the old Spektrum (in an M8) & am running the DX3R now and do not have range or glitching issues. (As long as the BEC is good. If you have a dodgy bec that does not put out clean DC, you could have glitches. that's what Spektrum sells the cap for.)
