Very eager to hear tests about the ESC. I really like the compact design. Do you know what the price will be? Like $300-400?

This is an e-mail I just got from Georges:

"For safety reason, we have removed the reverse function in the present line of 50V series esc, so it will not be suitable for use on cars,

We will be working on a new CPU for the future generation of scorpion ESC’s, but I think this is going to take at least a year to develop, so I’m sorry to tell you we will not have a car esc in the next 12 months to come."

Please do keep us posted on how your ESC does.

Even though it doesn't have reverse, why can't it be used on cars? It will still have brakes, right?

The problem I had with the 6S version is that the brakes were still the airplane type brakes. It wasn't proportional like what the car ESCs have.

Not really. They are working on it and when everything is working good, it'll be a nice HV ESC and they have the 15S that I hope will have the same software.

got this form a german site of someone running a scorpion in an e-revo:

google translation of the bold part: The brake is fine and well-dosed, to block it.

This is what I got when I translated all of it:

"steuerung akkus angestöpselt and it pipt to begrüssung, and loose gehts. he takes cleanly drive up and he does not go with more full leistug come on. so after nem meter goes off post and he gives stoff. well for him came floating. it brakes comes finely and well measureable up to which block. knüppel on neutrally, and cleanly gehts stutter in rückwertsgang. nobody or buck. nothing. so with go then there was, nevertheless, small unstimmigkeiten. sometimes see what must be changed. temp in regler amounted to 46 gs"

Maybe they changed the brakes to make it work with the unit he has. I thought mine had proportional brakes but it didn't. It brakes good though.

I give it a try, it says more or less:

"switched on the transmitter, connected a battery pack and got a greeting beep, so let's go. good acceleration, but it doesen't accelarate with full power from the beginning, but after a few meters, full power, which is good for the gears. very smooth brakes until the full stop. then throttle to neutral and backwards, no cogging or so.

during the drive some small problems, we will see which settings have to be changed. the temperature of the esc was 46 degrees, motor 56, at 17 degrees outdoor temperature."

sound pretty good to me, the breaks seem to work for cars,
florian
