i think it was kinda a two in one....
quote from post #11 "I think it was hpi nitro mt2 17mm adaptor hubs made by new era fit."
i think the idea is that with doing the widening mod, you can use the 17mm adapters from new era. and have stronger arms in the process.

I used a "bottom" line.

Not nearly as much. And the arms are plastic, IMO I want my truggy to have plastic arms. The mod will cost alot more upfront to do, but once its done, its done, and arms are like 7 bucks for a 4 pack, c hubs are a few bucks ETC... Parts are alot stronger where Mikes arms still use the stock hubs and knuckles which would be a major week spot from what I found on my old .5

I will post a list of the needed parts when im done, but it will be fairly cheap, im not trying to make it insanely cheap, if thats wanted then use the stock set up, im just doing something for me being cheaper. If you like it, sweet, if not, then thats cool, just putting something else out there for people to try. Trying to give my part of time and money to do something cool like everyone else does testing parts, I just dont have any cash

Hi, Thanks for your inquiry. The first thing I need to know about your CRT is does is use axle pins in all four axles? If so, what is the diameter of the pins and the axles? You'll have to give me a call about the Slash. 308-730-XXXX Thanks -Rob

Hi - Just wondering if you could make 17mm adapters for a CRT .5 - There is a lot of interest at RC-Monster.com/forum for these.
Also 17mm adapters for slash.

No no, I didnt take it that way, Just trying to explain my reason behind the mod. I know most people would rather buy a kit, and bolt it on.
I think half the fun is messing with my car, if it turns out to be more money then I expected, at least its done, and other people can do the mod if the feel like it

It is always nice to have options!
The adaptors can be used for people who just want to run the 17mm occasionally, and the new arms can be run for those who want to run 17mm full time.
Maybe I will see if he just wants to borrow an axle/pin to get the measurements dead on.
I will post here when he replies.

Anyone ever find a solution for running 17mm hex wheels on the CRT.5?
Id like to be able to do this, but it doesnt seem that there is an adapter to work. If there is anything out there Id love any info anyone has.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...

Maybe Mike could make a set of arms and adapters that would take the 17mm rims and not put any strain on the rest of the drive line
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

I went back and forth for almost 6 months with Rob Forsberg from Wheel Extensions.
-----DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM! -----
I sent him my Hub/axle/carrier off my crt.5 (putting it out of commission obviously, for this whole time). He promised me he would take the measurements and test fit the parts and have MY parts AND the extensions/adaptors back to me within 2 weeks (perfectly ok with me!). So I sent him my stuff and I had to call him CONSTANTLY over the next 3 months. He kept saying he was busy and didn’t have time. I finally said forget it, send the parts and the extensions and I will make them work myself.
So I get a package in the mail with only 4 17mm adaptors (none of my parts). I contact him and he swears he sent the parts. Weeks later I get another package from him with SOMEONE ELSES PARTS! Looked like they were from some sort of buggy. I tell him he sent me the wrong parts and I need mine back. He states “O, those were just some random extra parts I had laying around on my workbench”. I said, why the hell would you send me some random parts knowing they are not mine?
So in the end the extensions would not work (the diameter of the extension is drilled too large and he does not have a functioning enough brain to realize all he would have to do is drill the holes a smidgen smaller in productions and they would be just fine. No matter how many times I told him this he couldn’t get it through his head. I even asked for some with a 1/8 inch pilot hole centered on the extension (meaning I would drill it out to the axle size). And he said “NO” lol!
In the beginning he promised me he would “send some profit my way” for all the help. Not only did he LOSE MY PARTS (never got them back) I also ended up with NO EXTENSIONS. My truck was out of commission for almost half a year and I was out 20 bucks. He finally refunded the money for the extensions I paid (20 bucks) and I was out the money for my parts (34 bucks).
Bottom line… go somewhere else for extensions/adaptors!!!
Lol so on that note….any ideas???

umm what a bummer, but these things happen and at least he made an attempt to get u the right stuff back to u, but definatly time wasted and time is Money in my mind. im sure something can be made to work even if u have to fit a sleeve between the slop to make a 17mm work,
